Ladies and gentlemen, the 2014 schedule for the Cleveland Eastern Suburbs Rugby Football Club is starting to come together. Here’s what the city’s most successful rugby club has in store:

Social:
The Green Horde’s annual Super Bowl Party Sunday will be Februaru 2, 2014 at Mullarkey’s in Downtown Willoughby. This is a fundraiser for the club as well as a way to just have a good time. Paying $10 at the door gets you all you can eat food, drink specials, squares, prizes and all the football action you can handle. Doors open at 2:00pm. The game starts at 6:25pm.

The Six Nations tournament is starting and the Green Horde will be hosting match viewings at Claddagh in Legacy Village. There’s a $10 cover that gets you access to the lovely Claddagh restuarant’s food and drinks as well as all of the day’s European rugby action.

As a former Cleveland Blues / Cleveland Rugby Club rugger I was surfing and found your web page—nicely done! I played in the 70′ and 80′s with John Malone, Gerry Doyle, Bobby Gregg, Bobby Lebby; I suspect some of the veteran Old Greys may remember me ie Jim Farmer. Prior to that I played four years at Kent State University 1966-1970.
I was wondering if you have any contact numbers or addresses for some of the older players?
Is Tom Boyle still around the pitch? I saw his picture on your web page. Hell, I played at Kent with him.
Best Regards and have a good season, sorry I can not watch your team play as I am in South Carolina.

Boyle and Farmer are still very much involved with the club. Boyle still straps up from time to time and helps with training sessions here and there. Mr. Farmer is the main contact with the Old Boys community. I can shoot him your e-mail address and he can get you on the contact list. Also, if you have any old photos from your time with the Blues let me know. I would like to do a slideshow like I did with the Grays. It’s only right that both sides of our history be represented.
